A productive and effective annual conference for 160 managers ofNordenia International AG.
Nordenia International, one of the world's largest foil manufacturers based in Greven, Germany, maintains 20 locations on four continents with some 3,000 staff.
Scattered production site localities call for effective contact between managers. Corporate principles and future perspectives must be jointly developed and communicated. Early involvement of management ensures that they are conveyed with lasting effect.
THE CHALLENGE
The Management Forum 2002 raised high expectations, not just because of the top-class line-up, but also due to the targets set - from content and location, to workshop mode, everything was to follow the event's motto of "Let's get fit for the future".
THE SOLUTION
The event organisers, Event-Agentur POMMEREL, suggested a "unique and forward-looking technique" (MEP - Multimedia & Event Products 2/2003) - nextpractice's large-group moderation software nextmoderator.
Emotion and efficiency
nextmoderator connected the 160 managers over a network. The extraordinary implementation of a group brainstorming session using nextmoderator was extremely effective. Ideas, entered anywhere in the network by participants, were instantly available to all other participants, allowing immediate assessment.
In a single conference room, the participants used nextmoderator to simultaneously and well-structured process seven separate topics according to their own individual perspectives.
The event language was English.
THE RESULTS
"nextmoderator proved to be the right tool, particularly for the Management Forum's strategic task of presenting shared values." (MEP - Multimedia & Event Products 2/2003)
Supported by nextmoderator, a lively exchange of ideas evolved. The flowing transition between groupwork and the forum allowed the staff to bundle the contributions into main points and subsequently rank them according to importance.
OPENNESS CREATES MOTIVATION
Throughout the meeting, the nextmoderator results were presented online by projecting them onto a large sceen. The unique form of groupwork moderation and forum contributions in just one room guaranteed a particularly high degree of participant involvement. Loss of time and energy due to room changing was eliminated.
The candid statements and the quality of results delighted and motivated in equal measure.
